Celebrate President’s Day with the JCFPL

The Jersey City Free Public Library cordially invites the Jersey City community to join us this President’s Day as we honor the rich history and contributions of U.S. Presidents.

Established in 1889, the JCFPL has proudly served as a dynamic center for growth and learning in Jersey City for over 120 years. Our President’s Day celebration is not only a reflection of our nation’s history but also a reaffirmation of our commitment to being an Effective and Accountable Organization.

We look forward to welcoming you to a series of special events and highlighted resources, showcasing our dedication to providing educational and cultural enrichment to our community members.

Resources
  • Civil War Primary Source Documents: An archive of unique manuscripts chronicling the American Civil War as it was experienced. It covers all aspects of the war, including reactions and impressions from the home front.
  • Gale’s Nineteenth Century U.S. Newspapers: a full-text searchable, facsimile-image database — provides an as-it-happened window on events, culture, and daily life in nineteenth-century America that is of interest to both professional and general researchers.
  • The New York Times: Our New York Times subscription includes Pulitzer Prize-winning journalism, with reporting from over 120 countries in English, Spanish, and Chinese.
