Celebrate March into Literacy Month with the JCFPL!

March into Literacy Month is a dedicated time to celebrate and promote the importance of reading, digital literacy, and lifelong learning within the Jersey City community. Embracing our role as a dynamic center for learning, connection, and growth, we are excited to offer an array of resources catering to patrons’ needs as part of our Purpose and Commitments and Digital Equity and Literacy Initiatives. In addition to free WiFi, public computers, wireless printing, and technology kits, including Chromebooks and internet hotspots we also offer the Pop-up Library, which further extends our reach by making e-books and audiobooks more accessible to everyone at select locations, with or without a library card.

Resources
  • Libby: Libby is a user-friendly app that allows users to borrow and read e-books and audiobooks from their local library using their mobile devices.
  • ABCmouse: From Age of Learning, Inc., the award-winning ABCmouse.com curriculum is designed to help young children (ages 2 – 6+) build a strong foundation for future academic success.
  • NoveList K-8 Plus: NoveList K-8 Plus is a trusted source of read-alike recommendations specifically for younger readers. It helps kids find books that are just right for their reading level and interests.

As we celebrate over a century of service, the JCFPL continues to evolve ensuring that our operations reflect our dedication to serving the diverse needs of Jersey City’s residents.

Patron Feedback:

“The five-corner library is truly remarkable to me! It offers a multitude of events to participate in and a vast selection of books to read or take home. The staff are consistently kind and attentive. Moreover, you have the opportunity to play various video games on the laptops and even take classes, such as coding and dancing. It’s the best library for me, and it’s conveniently located within walking distance!”
