Books and Badges

On Thursday, July 19, 2018, over 300 youngsters gathered at Cunningham Branch Library for a Books & Badges event, presented as part of the Jersey City Police Department’s CHAT 4 Change program. Children made special bookmarks, were treated to a special story hour with police officers, and even got to experience the thrill of talking into a police car’s loudspeaker! All students also received a tour of the Library to learn about all it has to offer. The Library is proud to partner with the JCPD to encourage summer reading! Along with the Jersey City Free Public Library’s Summer Reading Program, events like these give young students an opportunity to learn and grow all summer long.
