According to breastcancer.org, about 1 in 8 women in the U.S. will develop breast cancer in their lifetime. Although more than 40,000 American women are expected to die from breast cancer this year, survival rates are very high if this cancer is detected and treated in the early stages. Get educated about breast cancer at the Cunningham Branch Library! A special display for Breast Cancer Awareness Month at Cunningham features a reading list and several books that encourage patrons to learn more about this deadly and all-too-common disease. Books are available to help those who are struggling with a recent diagnosis, those living in remission, and those who want to know how they can support a friend or family member with the disease.
