We are currently accepting returns of library materials. Please see below for details. Due dates for all materials—books, movies and hotspots—have been extended to November 30.

All overdue fines are suspended.

Reopening Services

Patrons may return materials to the following locations on Tuesdays between 1 - 5 p.m. and Saturdays between 1 - 4:30 p.m. 

- Priscilla Gardner Main Library: 472 Jersey Ave. (Ring Bell at Main Entrance - Buzzed In)
- Cunningham: 275 Martin Luther King Dr. (Back Door on Parking Lot Side)
- Five Corners: 678 Newark Ave. (Outside Door in Back Parking Lot)
- Heights: 14 Zabriskie St. (Front Foyer - Buzzed In)
- Miller: 489 Bergen Ave. (Foyer - Buzzed In)
- Morgan: 1841 Kennedy Blvd. (Inside Foyer - Buzzed In)
- Pavonia: 326 Eighth St. (Left Hand Side of the Door)

Our smaller branches will offer returns on Tuesdays from 1 - 4:30 p.m. :

- Lafayette: 307 Pacific Ave. (Outside of Entrance Door)
- Marion: 1017 West Side Ave. (Left Hand Side of Entrance - Buzzed In)

Our staff will quarantine returned items for 72 hours and disinfect them before reshelving. Please allow up to ten days for materials to be cleared from your account once returned .

Health & Safety
Cleaning Protocols
All frequently touched surfaces will be disinfected multiple times throughout the day. In addition, all returned books will be quarantined for 72 hours and cleaned before reshelving. 
Social Distancing
Six-foot social distancing will be observed.
Staff & Patron Safety
Library staff will be required to wear masks and gloves at all times. Plexiglass barriers installed at every staffed desk.
Health Screening
All staff members will continue to be tested for COVID-19 on a monthly basis and to provide subsequent evidence of a negative result before entering the library buildings. Staff and patrons alike will submit to temperature readings upon entrance so as to ensure the highest level of public safety.
Sanitizing and Mask Availibility
The library will provide access to multiple hand sanitizer stations throughout the buildings. Hand-sanitizer and tissues will be available at every desk. All staff and patrons are required to wear masks.  Masks will be provided to patrons as needed. (Patrons who fail to comply with wearing a face covering will be barred from entering the library).
