Main Library Closed 3/1 – 3/11 Branch Libraries to Open Extended Hours During Closure

 

JERSEY CITY, N.J.   Feb. 20, 2018 – The Main Library will be closed beginning Thurs., Mar. 1 to complete asbestos abatement in the Reference Department, including air quality testing and cleaning. This is the final step to complete the asbestos abatement that was carried out in 2017. We anticipate the Main Library will reopen on Mon., Mar. 12.

Regional branch libraries will open for extended hours during the Main Library closure: please see the temporary system schedule below.

Main Library, 472 Jersey Ave.: All departments closed 3/1 – 3/11/2018.

Cunningham Branch Library, 275 Martin Luther King Drive:

Mon. & Wed., 9 A.M. – 8 P.M.

Tue. & Thurs., 10 A.M. – 6 P.M.

Fri. & Sat., 9 A.M. – 5 P.M.

 

Five Corners Branch Library, 678 Newark Avenue:

Mon. & Wed., 9 A.M. – 8 P.M.

Tue. & Thurs., 10 A.M. – 6 P.M.

Fri. & Sat., 9 A.M. – 5 P.M.

 

Greenville Branch Library, 1841 Kennedy Boulevard:

Mon. & Wed., 10 A.M. – 6 P.M.

Heights Branch Library, 14 Zabriskie Street:

Miller Branch Library, 489 Bergen Avenue:

Mon. & Wed., 9 A.M. – 8 P.M.

Pavonia Branch Library, 326 Eighth Street:

Mon. & Wed., 9 A.M. – 8 P.M.

Tue. & Thurs., 10 A.M. – 6 P.M.

Fri. & Sat., 9 A.M. – 5 P.M.

 

Neighborhood branch libraries (Lafayette, Marion, West Bergen) will open on Saturday, March 10, from 9 A.M. to 5 P.M., in addition to their normal Monday to Friday hours.

The Bookmobile will be posted outside the Main Library at the below listed times. Please see the attached temporary Bookmobile schedule for full details.

Fri., Mar. 2, 12:45 – 2 P.M.

Mon., Mar. 5, 3 – 4:15 P.M.

Wed., Mar. 7, 3 – 4 P.M.

Fri., Mar. 9, 2:45 – 4:15 P.M.
