It’s
Summer!!!! And the Jersey City Free Public Library gives
children the chance to enjoy
summertime through the lively and fun environment of our Summer Reading
Program.
This year, the annual Summer Reading Club runs from Monday,
June 21st to Friday, August 13th throughout the Jersey City
library system, and remains the primary summer program, where reading
logs chronicle the child’s adventures with the printed page.
There are special, individual themes for Children and Young Adults
(YA) to whet their appetites for a summer of reading. In keeping with
Summer, going down the shore is always a treat, so Children are encouraged
to “Make a Splash – READ!” And
with YAs, you know they want to make anything their own, so Young
Adults are encouraged to “Make Waves…READ!”
YAs are those youth in the 6th, 7th, 8th grades and older, and special,
and separate, programs have been arranged throughout the eight-week
Summer Reading Program.
We welcome all children and YAs to the Jersey City Free Public Library
for a summer of exciting reading – and of making friends and
participating in fun activities! Don’t miss out!!
Registration at the Main Library
and your local branch library begins
on Tuesday, June 1st.
