Often overlooked and often not appreciated, the Miller Branch Library decided to honor dads on their special day with a Father’s Day Tribute on Wednesday, June 14, 2006. The evening – His-story Will Be Told. – included poetry and prayer, awards and acknowledgements, education and reflection – and even a Tacky Tie Contest! (The winner received a gift certificate to purchase a new tie (!) hopefully not as bad as the first one.) All in all, the evening’s success stood on the shoulders of the men participating, the fathers who not only care for their own families, but who care for their communities. Well done, Dads!
